Simply Better Bacon Recipe Contest Entry Rules
1. Eligibility
Godshall’s Simply Better Bacon Recipe Contest is open to legal U.S. residents who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry and are not professional chefs or culinary specialists. Employees of Godshall’s Quality Meats, the judging panelists, promotion partners, and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate. Recipe Contest is void where prohibited by law or otherwise regulated.
2. Submission Guidelines
Godshall’s Simply Better Bacon Contest opens at 12:01 am ET on August 15, 2025, and ends at 11:59 pm ET on September 15, 2025 (Deadline). All entries must be submitted before the Deadline. Submit your entry at: https://godshalls.zoholandingpage.com/pabaconfest-recipe-contest, and follow the instructions. All entries must include your full name, address, city, state, zip code, telephone number, and email address. Incomplete entries will be disqualified. Please follow all directions carefully.
Only submit original recipes that you developed. Make sure that your recipe includes at least one Godshall’s Simply Better Bacon product. Only one original recipe is allowed per contestant.
Please ensure that your recipe does not infringe any person’s or entity’s copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights. By submitting your recipe, you grant Godshall's Quality Meats and PA Bacon Fest unrestricted use of the material, including your name. We reserve the right to modify, reproduce, and distribute the material in any medium or manner. We may contact you via phone or email regarding your submission. Your recipe photos and video may be used in print publications or online.
3. Selection of Winners and Judging Criteria
The selection of the winning submissions will happen in two phases.
Phase 1. Godshall’s and PA Bacon Fest representatives will evaluate all of the qualifying submissions using the following criteria:
- Optimum use of Godshall’s Simply Better Bacon Product – 25%
- Creativity – 25%
- Appetite Appeal – 25%
- Inspiration – 25%
The top 5 submissions will be selected to participate in the Live Cookoff Event on October 4, 2025, at the Easton Public Market. Contestants will be notified on September 22, 2025, via their selected/preferred method of communication and will be provided additional details about the live event.
Phase 2. The winner of Godshall’s Simply Better Bacon Recipe Contest will be determined by the panel of expert judges at the live event in Easton, PA. Judges will be evaluating the presented dishes based on the following criteria:
- Bacon-forward Taste: 30%
- Does this recipe taste good, and does it showcase Godshall’s Simply Better Bacon in a way that would be appealing to consumers?
- Presentation: 20%
- Does this dish have appetite appeal? Does it look like something you’d want to taste as soon as you see it?
- Creativity/Originality: 25%
- Is this recipe original and unique? Does this recipe reflect the contestant’s personal touch?
- Overall Appeal: 25%
- Does this recipe come with a great story? Does it appeal to other foodies? Is this recipe simple to make?
All entries will be evaluated using the criteria stated above. The judges' decision is final and binding on all matters related to this Recipe Contest.
4. Winners and Prizes
A total of three winners will be selected and announced following the in-person expert judge panel evaluation on October 4, 2025, with prizes as follows:
- One Grand Prize winner will be awarded:
o $500 cash
o A YETI hard cooler packed with a variety of Godshall’s Bacon (valued at $500)
o PA Bacon Fest Merch Bundle
o Winning recipe will be featured on Godshall’s official recipe card, to be handed out to attendees at the 2025 PA Bacon Fest
- One second-place winner will be awarded:
o $250 Cash Prize
o A large cooler & coupons for FREE Godshall’s Bacon products (valued at $300)
o PA Bacon Fest Merch Bundle
- One third-place winner will be awarded:
o $100 Cash Prize
o Medium-sized cooler & coupons for FREE Godshall’s Bacon products (valued at $150)
o PA Bacon Fest Merch Bundle
- The total value of all prizes in this Contest is $1,900.00
- All winners agree that the publishing rights granted above will be exclusive to Godshall’s Quality Meats for use in any media for a period of one year after the date a prize is awarded; following such period, such publishing rights shall continue on a non-exclusive basis.
- Prizes are not transferable and cannot be substituted or assigned by the winner, unless prohibited by law. Godshall’s reserves the right to substitute a similar prize of equal or greater value in the event that the stated prize cannot be awarded for any reason. All taxes, if any, are the winners’ responsibility. Godshall’s will not be responsible for any loss, liability, or damage arising out of the winners’ acceptance or use of the prize(s).
- Entry and/or acceptance of prize(s) constitutes permission for Godshall’s and its agencies (if any) to use the winner’s name, hometown (e.g., city and state) and/or likeness for advertising and trade purposes without further compensation or authorization, worldwide and in perpetuity, in any and all forms of media, now known and hereafter devised, unless prohibited by law.
By submitting their recipes, participants agree to be bound by these complete Official Rules. Godshall’s is not liable for any malfunctions or failures of any computer internet system, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant’s or any other person’s computer, mobile or any other device and/or its contents related to or resulting from participation or downloading/uploading any materials relating to this Contest, or other technical difficulties or failures or other errors of any kind.
Godshall’s reserves the right to terminate or modify the Contest in case there aren’t enough qualifying entries that meet the minimum judging criteria. If two similar entries are received, only the entry considered to meet the evaluation criteria best will be included in the final judging. Entrants agree to indemnify Godshall’s from and against any and all claims and liabilities arising out of or in connection with this Recipe Contest.
5. No Recourse to Judicial or Other Procedures/Severability
To the extent permitted by law, the rights to litigate, to seek injunctive relief, or to make any other recourse to judicial or any other procedure in case of disputes or claims resulting from or in connection with this Recipe Contest are hereby excluded, and any entrant expressly waives any and all such rights. Entrants agree that these Official Rules are governed by the laws of the State of Pennsylvania, U.S.A., without reference to principles of conflicts of law. If any provision(s) of these Official Rules are held to be invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions hereof will remain in full force and effect.
6. List of Winners
To receive a list of winners, write to Godshall’s Quality Meats, Inc. Recipe Contest, 743 Hagey Center Dr., Souderton, PA, 18964. Request for the list of winners must be received within one year of the Deadline Date.
